(If you still need some more clarity pl. click here )
What is orofacial trauma?

The key element in the design of this set of parameters for orofacial trauma is the professional judgment of the attending dentist, for a specific patient, at a specific time. In a patient presenting with orofacial trauma, medical stabilization takes precedence over dental treatment.

Can a fractured tooth root heal?

When the outer hard tissues of the tooth are cracked, chewing can cause movement of the pieces, and the pulp can become irritated. Eventually, the pulp will become damaged to the point that it can no longer heal itself. The tooth will not only hurt when chewing but may also become sensitive to temperature extremes.

How do you treat injured teeth?

A permanent tooth that is re-implanted within 30 minutes has the highest chance of success.

    1. Collect Teeth or Teeth Fragments. Handle teeth carefully because damage may prevent re-implantation. …
    2. Re-Insert or Store Teeth. Rinse mouth with warm water. …
    3. Treat Symptoms. Control bleeding with sterile gauze or cloth. …
    4. Get Help.
What happens if you break a tooth?

Apply a cold pack to the cheek or lips over the broken tooth. This will help reduce swelling and relieve pain. If you can’t get to your dentist right away, cover the part of the tooth that is in your mouth with temporary dental cement. You can find this at a drugstore.

Can you reattach a chipped tooth?

Dental Filling or Bonding. If you have chipped off just a small piece of tooth enamel, your dentist may repair the damage with a filling. If the repair is to a front tooth or can be seen when you smile, your dentist will likely use a procedure called bonding, which uses a tooth-colored composite resin.

What is the treatment for an avulsed tooth?

Dental avulsion. Dental avulsion is the complete displacement of a tooth from its socket in alveolar bone owing to trauma. The treatment for permanent teeth consists of replantation, immediately if possible. Deciduous teeth should not be replanted due to the risk of damaging the permanent tooth germ

How do you store a broken tooth? Broken or fractured tooth - What should you do?
    1. If the tooth fragment is broken and is intact, store it in milk or saliva (preferably the patient’s).
    2. Seal it in plastic wrap.
    3. See an oral health professional as soon as possible.
How can I temporarily fix a broken tooth?

If you can put the mixture into your broken tooth without discomfort, you should be fine until your dental appointment. To reduce possible pain while eating, you may want to stick with soft foods and liquids, and avoid anything too hot or cold. You could also try chewing solely on the intact side of your mouth.
